A week of scientific conferences in Italy have finally ended: the last few days have been on a hilltop in Bertinoro for the annual STAFF Symposium. The setting is spectacular; it’s a university conference center in a walled fortress above the town of Bertinoro. There was a side trip to see the mosaics in Ravenna, and the Adriatic Seas is visible off to the east.
It would be a good day to be on the beach if it wasn’t raining. The food is wonderful and I’m looking forward to a quiet weekend to digest all of the ideas presented.
‘headed south towards Naples for a Monday meeting, with intermittant Internet. Lots to see, and lots to share on my return.
